A Wild Weekend...

Mother Nature really dropped a bomb on us last week...

Friday, actually...we were expecting some thunderstorms, but I never expected the 85 mph winds that hit us Friday afternoon...and the lightening had me jumping in my husband's lap a few times...

We lost part of a beautiful maple tree, but we're hoping that it will survive; we also lost a small apple tree and a lot of large branches off some of our other trees...a few very small wet spots in our basement...
but we were lucky compared to some of our neighbors...our neighbor across the road had a large camper turned on it's side and another neighbor had a lot of roof damage...others down the road had carports fall down and large trees across the road...

So we were quite lucky (thank God for our 2 year old roof) compared to some and we're thankful that we're safe...

Wow that does sound like some wild weather - So happy you are safe and sound. Hope your neighbors find it wasn't as bad as it looked

Wow! Sandie, I'm so glad that you're OK. It's scary to think what could have happened. Mother nature is very powerful.

We lost some big maple trees in our backyard a few years ago when they split in two right in the middle. It was ice and wind that damaged our trees. In all we had to cut down three trees for safety reasons and miss the shade in the backyard. Keep safe and well. JB
