A Surprise

snowstorm, that is...
just when I thought spring was really here, and our spring flowers were starting to peek out, Mother Nature has lovingly dumped another few inches of snow on us overnight, along with cold north wind and blowing drifts...and poor Gus, my shih tsu!  i had him groomed yesterday and shaved pretty short; you should have seen the look on his little face when i let him out this morning...about a minute later he was at the back door, his eyes wide as little saucers and shivering; i think i heard him say...why did you do this to me, mommy?  its COLD out there!
So, I know that this will melt fast and it will be once again near 60 and maybe even warmer in a few days, but I really thought I'd seen the last of it for this year...we happened right around the same time last year too, and it's not unusual at all, so I shouldn't have been surprised at's what makes life here so interesting :)

I am NOT a winter person, but I love spring snowstorms because I know the snow won't last long.
Here's to spring returning!
